We will partner with Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS) to host a free local qualifying meet in 2025. There are some logistics / construction causing delays in identifying a date and location.
In 2024, Des Moines youth had a chance to compete in their hometown. Local meet champions and second place finishers had the opportunity to participate in the State Meet in Marshalltown on June 1, 2024.

Our organization's goal in 2023 was to increase trail use among the youth and community in Des Moines as well as provide recreational opportunities in our parks. We offered the race for free to participants who register for the 6-week Youth Running Program held at Riverview Park. The community raised $4,500 overall through 75 participants in the innagural year. In 2025, we are looking to partner with the North High School Booster Club to raise funds to support their programs.

This camp provides a supportive and fun environment where participants will learn proper weightlifting techniques, build physical and mental strength, and develop confidence and resiencethat extend beyond the gym.

The IOWA Foundation is partnering with TnT Camps, United Way of Jasper County and Newton High School Athletics to host a Football Camp for participants in 3rd-8th Grade in Jasper County. Registration proceeds will be donated to the UWJC and scholarships are available. Last year over $1,700+ was donated to UWJC.

TnT Football Camps will be heading to Des Moines Lincoln in 2025. The IOWA Foundation has partnered with Tim Dwight, Tavian Banks and Rodney Filer for the third year to bring a FREE Camp to Des Moines youth at Lincoln High School. More guest coaches will be announced soon. In 2025, we will cross over 1,000 youth served through TnT Camps in Grades 3rd-8th.

Adaptive Sports Iowa (ASI) recognized that cyclists with disabilities face many barriers that limit the accessibility of RAGBRAI. ASI organized this team to reduce the impact of these barriers and make RAGBRAI accessible and enjoyable to cyclists with disabilities.

The Official Leadership Program trains teens (13-18 year olds) to become paid umpires and leaders on and off the field. To register, select the location in the drop-down menu and fill out the liability waiver and photo consent form. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from UMPS CARE with more information on your six-week program or weekend clinic.

TnT Camps celebrated it's second year at Des Moines Hoover. The IOWA Foundation partnered with Tim Dwight, Tavian Banks, Rodney Filer, Hoover Athletics and the SWARM to bring a FREE Camp to Des Moines youth at Hoover High School. 400 youth in 3rd-8th Grade registered for the 2024 camp.
The IOWA Foundation is hosting a FREE 5-week Youth Running Program at East High School's Duke Williams Stadium in Des Moines. Participants will be led by volunteer coaches from Des Moines East through curriculum developed to increase their fitness while also discussing healthy lifestyles using topics from 5-2-1-0 Iowa.

We partnered with Champions For Literacy, We Will Collective, ISU 4 U Promise and Des Moines Public Schools to bring three Lead & Read events to King and Moulton Elementary Schools. Iowa State Men's Basketball, Football and Volleyball student athletes hosted assemblies discussing the importance of literacy. Then they joined classrooms where they read to students in K-5th Grade, answered Q&A, took pictures and signed autographs.
The IOWA Foundation launched a Kickoff Event in January 2024 with the Iowa Wild, Crash (Wild mascot) and Des Moines Parks & Rec. A 6-week Floor Hockey program followed for youth in K-5th Grade.
For the second year, we brought a free youth basketball clinic to Des Moines in partnership with the We Will Collective and Des Moines Parks & Rec. This year we had 100 youth in the 1st grade Parks & Rec Basketball League participate.

The IOWA Foundation hosted a Free 6-week Youth Running Program at Riverview Park in Des Moines for over 40 youth. Participants in grades K-8th were led by volunteer coaches. In this program, coaches led participants through curriculum developed in partnership with 5-2-1-0 Iowa.
The program culminated in a 5k at Riverview Park on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Riverview Park.
UMPS Care hosted 10 youth and their families at an Iowa Cubs game. Each Blue Crew Ticket VIP experience includes great seats to the ballgame, a goody bag of “all things baseball”, and the unique opportunity to step onto the field to meet the umpires and take.a photo. A special day at the ballpark is magical for the kids.
TnT Football Camp returned for 2023 in partnership with The IOWA Foundation. Hawkeye legends Tim Dwight, Tavian Banks and Rodney Filer along with the We Will Collective and Hoover Athletics brought a FREE Camp to Des Moines youth at Hoover High School. Around 400 youth in 3rd-8th Grade participated in the camp.
The IOWA Foundation partnered with Alexis Gomez and other members of the Grand View Women's Wrestling team to host a free Girls Wrestling Camp for ~100 participants in 3rd-12th Grade.
The We Will Collective partnered with The IOWA Foundation to host a FREE Basketball Clinic for youth in 1st-6th Grade. The clinic featured members of the Iowa State Men's Basketball team who led participants in skills & drills. Following the clinic players signed autographs and took pictures with participants. The clinic was held at Valley Community Center from 5:30-7:00pm.
The Drake Men's and Women's Soccer teams hosted a clinic at Cownie Soccer Complex on August 17th from 5-6pm.
Participants were able to take pictures, get autographs and learn from the players before their game against Grand View.
Volunteers packed backpacks with school supplies in partnership with Blast Back to School of Story County on August 11, 2022 from 5pm-8pm at Storey Kenworthy (424 S Bell Ave, Ames, IA 50010)
The BBTS event collects supplies and backpacks throughout the spring and summer, packs the backpacks with the supplies, and then the participating schools distribute the backpacks to any student that registers for the event.
The IOWA Foundation partnered with the Jr. J-Hawks to distribute free baseball pants to participants at Dugout Sports in Fairfax, IA. Volunteers from the CR Jefferson's high school baseball team jumped in the batting cages with participants to work on their swings.
